Jewish Cooking Classes

Looking for a fun, educational activity for your congregation, organization or private party? Let me come to you! I am availble to teach private cooking classes at your home or facility. My classes are designed to run about two hours, with 30 minutes at the end to eat and discuss. All classes are kosher style. Menus can be tailored to each class, and options include kosher, vegetarian and low-fat. Please note that I usually bring my own equipment (such as pots and pans), which is not kosher, so if the class must be kosher, kosher equipment must be provided. Classes include:

Lost Secrets of Jewish Cooking

Learn the tricks your grandmother used for making the fluffiest matzo balls, flavorful chicken soup, moist and juicy brisket, amazing chopped liver, the best Bundt cakes and more.

Shabbat For Busy Families

Think you’re too busy or too tired to put together a homemade meal on Friday night? This class is for you! Participants will learn simple make-ahead recipes such as overnight challah, slow-cooker braised short ribs and double-chocolate trifle. By the time Shabbat rolls around, you can just pop your dough in the oven, set the table and sit down to a wonderful meal together.

Passover Desserts

Passover treats don’t have to be dry, bland or boring! Learn to make such delicacies as poached pears in wine sauce, rich chocolate brownies and strawberry cheesecake that will have family and friends raving.

Passover for the Rest of the Week

Wondering what to serve once the Seder is over? This year, skip the soggy matzo pizza and learn to make exciting new dishes, such as artichoke dip with savory garlic matzo crisps, olive-and-feta cheese frittatas, chocolate chip meringue cookies and more.

Passover from Generation to Generation

Join together with others to learn new Passover recipes and swap old ones while we explore the secrets of great Passover cooking. Participants will learn to make Sephardic matzo pie (made with ground lamb and cinnamon), leek and potato frittatas, southern pecan praline macaroons and more.

Design Your Own

Talk to me about creating a class just for you!
