The
Kansas City Storm donated tickets to the Derrick Thomas' Third and
Long Foundation so that the children could attend a Wizards game.
Mike McInerney from the Third and Long Foundation extended his appreciation
to the Storm for their generosity. "Field trips, like attending
a Wizards game, provide the kids the opportunity to attend a professional
soccer game while helping to develop their social skills."
“The
Storm is very proud to support the efforts of the Third and Long
foundation and the legacy of Derrick Thomas,” said Nance Wernes,
owner of the Kansas City Storm. “High risk children need our
attention and assistance to help provide a clear path to a productive
life.” This is not the first time the Storm has stepped up
to help the Kansas City community, last fall the Storm teamed up
with local radio personalities to raise money for Toys for Tots.
The Storm is working on a number of charity events in the upcoming
months and plans to be very active in the Kansas City community. |
