The
Kansas City Storm, Kansas City's first professional women's tackle
football team had their first ever home opener this weekend versus
the Tucson, AZ Wildfire at Blue Springs High School. The Storm dominated
the entire game only allowing the Wildfire to score once. The eye
of the Storm, Rusty Sowers #20 made 4 touchdowns, a 2 point conversion,
and several interceptions playing both offense and defense. The
quarterback, AJ Thomas #14 scored 2 touchdowns as well as Tonille
Williams #19 with a final score of the Storm winning 63 to 6! The
women of the storm had an exceptional game on Saturday playing hard
with a terrifying defense, an organized special teams, and talented
offense! The Storm's next game will be this Saturday, April
23rd at Blue Springs High School versus Detroit.
