Having played
football since he was 11 years old, Mike is a veteran offensive
and defensive line player. In high school he was a three year
letterman and team captain, after which he was recruited to
play ball collegiately for Missouri Western, where he lettered
his sophomore year. His coaching experience includes coaching
the offensive line for Raytown High School and Avila University,
before being recruited to coach for the Kansas City Storm in
2005. In the fall he looks forward to coaching the offensive
line for Center High School. He hopes to be a successful coach
and teacher wherever he goes and never wants to stop learning
about the great game of football. One day he'd like to be a
head coach at the high school and/or college levels. Currently
his biggest task is being a positive role model for his children
(Drew, age 8 and Olivia, age 7) and making sure he helps them
become as successful as possible in whatever they do. He loves
spending quality time with those he loves, going fishing, playing
golf and softball, and going to Church to lead Praise and Worship
services. At one time Mike dabbled in amateur boxing, winning
the Kansas City Golden Gloves in 1991 & 1992, in the super
heavyweight division. He is also a very talented singer, having
sung at Carnegie Hall and participated in local singing contests,
as well as having been involved in a number of musical productions.
