Michele
is entering her fourth year of coaching Women’s Professional
Football. She started with the St. Louis Slam (NWFA) as an assistant
coach in the 2003 and 2004 seasons. A job transfer brought her
to the KC area where she finished the 2004 season as an assistant
coach with the KC Krunch (NWFA).
She has
been a successful head coach/manager and player for women’s
competitive sports in the St Louis area for many years. Michele
played competivly with the US Air Force softball team . Played
women’s travel tournament softball (USSSA) and ASA for
approximately 25 years. Served on the youth FAKL advisory board
and coached select competitive softball, basketball, and soccer
for girls in the St. Louis community for over 20 years. Earned
A.S.A. coaching credentials and was a certified fast-pitch pitching
and batting instructor for over 15 years for a sports clinic
out of St Louis.
Coming
from a family of coaches, her father coached successfully, her
grandfather Eddie Hickey was inducted into the Sports Hall Of
Fame as head coach for St.Louis U Billikens college basketball.
Michele feels the desire to teach competively and have a winning
record that was bred into her. She also believes it's an honor
to coach in a sport that women are breaking ground into and
would love to coach a team to a National championship. She lives
to see the day when women get recognized and payed for the talents
they have as athletes like men in their same sports.
