WOMEN'S FOOTBALL ENDS REGULAR SEASON HEADS INTO
PLAYOFFS
The National Women's Football Association
has completed its 2004 regular season and is now heading
into the first round of playoffs which begin on June 26th.
In the Northern Conference, the DC
Divas earned the number one seed, followed by defending
champion, the Detroit Demolition at number two. Both teams
have a bye the first week of the playoffs.
The Philadelphia Phoenix earned the
number three seed and hosts the number six seed, the SW
Michigan Jaguars. The Mass Mutiny is the number four seed
and will host the number five seed, the Columbus Comets
In the Southern Conference, the number one seed was earned
by the Oklahoma City Lightning, followed by number two seed,
the Chattanooga Locomotion. Both will have byes the first
week. The number three seed was earned by the Pensacola
Power who will host the number six seed, the Asheville Assault.
The Kansas City
Krunch earned the number four seed and will host the
Nashville Dream.
The second round of playoffs will
be on July 10 and the third round will be held on July 17th.
The top two teams remaining will compete at the 2004 World
Championship of Women's Pro Football.
The 2004 World Championship will
be held in Louisville, Kentucky at the Papa John's Cardinal
Stadium on Saturday, July 31st at 7:00pm. Tickets can be
purchased at ticketmaster, the stadium box office or at
any Louisville area Bearnos Pizza location.
