Two DST associates and the daughter
of an NFDS associate played the debut season with the
Kansas City Krunch, one of the newer teams in the young
semi-pro National Women's Football Association (NWFA).
The Krunch ended its first season with a 5-3 record.
Teams play from April through June, when playoffs begin.
DST is one of the team's sponsors.
TA2000 staff analyst programmer
Jennifer House plays offensive guard, TA2000 Voice senior
programmer Becky Person plays right tackle and Deaven
Workman, daughter of NFDS client service rep Paula Workman,
is a linebacker.
Neither Jennifer nor Deaven has
played organized football before, though they are both
involved in athletics. Paula says her daughter, Deaven,
won a softball scholarship to college. Jennifer play
softball and volleyball; she is a member of DST's Corporate
Challenge team. Becky played what was called "Powder
Puff Football" back in high school, even though
it was tackle, and played without pads. She has in the
past played softball in the Corporate Challenge.
The Krunch is one of 30 teams
in the NWFA. The Midwest division also includes St.
Louis, Evansville and Oklahoma.
